Alright, we'll start with IRC. In my opinion, the best way to interact with the community.

mIRC is an Internet Relay Chat (IRC) client for Microsoft Windows, created in 1995 and developed by Khaled Mardam-Bey. Although it is a fully functional chat utility, its integrated scripting language makes it extensible and versatile.

Here is how to connect:
Start by downloading the forever free client, here http://www.mirc.com/, then install it. Once you are done that open it up, you will see a nag screen come up telling you that you have 30 days left on your trial period. Ignore it, all it does is merely delay the startup. If the Options window doesn't popup at the startup, go to Tools -> Options, or press Alt+O. Fill out the information listed then press Ok.

Now that you've gone through everything, in the text area type the following command and you will connect to the Warrior Epic IRC Community Chat room.

/server irc.gamesurge.net -j #WarriorEpic

/server irc.gamesurge.net -j #PossibilitySpace

We now move to Xfire.

Xfire is a freeware instant messaging service targeted at gamers, that also serves as a game server browser and has various other features. It is currently available for Microsoft Windows. Xfire was originally developed by Ultimate Arena based in Menlo Park, California, Yahoo! filed a lawsuit against Xfire, Inc. on January 28, 2005, claiming Xfire has infringed Yahoo!'s U.S. Patent No. 6,699,125, for a "Game server for use in connection with a messenger server". Xfire, Inc. filed a countersuit against Yahoo! on March 10, 2005. The countersuit was eventually disqualified by the judge. There has been a settlement between the companies as of January 31, 2006. More details were posted to Xfire's forums, though terms were not disclosed.

Last but not least, my favourite, Ventrilo!

Ventrilo is a proprietary Voice over Internet Protocol program with clients for Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X. Most users of Ventrilo use a headset or microphone and use the program to talk to each other, similar to a telephone conference call. Ventrilo is often used by multiplayer video game players.

You don't NEED a microphone, although it is encouraged to have one.

Lets begin by downloading the Client, http://ventrilo.com/download.php download the Client that best suites your operating system. Once you have it installed, run it and you should be looking at this screen.

Click the right arrow next to the blue box in the picture. The new window that opens looks like the one below.

Click New to setup your new username. Then Hit OK.

Click the arrow next to Server to bring up this window.
Hit New and put a name for the server. Then fill out the server information accordingly.

Hit Ok to close that screen, press connect and you're set!
